16. Design, Modelling and Control of Electrical Machines - With Applications to Iron-powder Machines and Acoustic Noise
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two parts, the first dealing with the design of iron-powder synchronous machines, and the second with the analysis and prediction of the acoustic noise in electrical machines. In Part I, a 1.6 kW electrically magnetized claw-pole machine with magnetically conducting end-plates has been analyzed and a prototype tested. LÄS MER
17. Spectra and Dynamics of Excitations in Long-Range Correlated Structures
18. Reflector Optimization for Low Concentration Photovoltaic-Thermal Solar Collectors
Sammanfattning : The alarming new global warming and increasing awareness related to climate change (mainly due to the high emissions of carbon dioxide) in recent decades linked all nations into a common cause, which requires ambitious efforts to combat climate change by adapting energy systems to its effects. The knowledge gain presented in this dissertation establishes the foundations for the development of a more efficient concentrating photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) solar collector. 19. A Co-Simulation Tool Applied to Hydraulic Percussion Units
Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, a co-simulation tool is presented that is meant to comprise a more comprehensive environment for modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units, which are used in hydraulic hammers and rock drills. These units generates the large impact forces, which are needed to demolish concrete structures in the construction industry or to fragment rock when drilling blast holes in mine drifting. LÄS MER
20. Periodic Structures with Higher Symmetries: Analysis and Applications
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, periodic structures with higher symmetries are studied. Their wave propagation characteristics are investigated and their potential applications are discussed. Higher-symmetric periodic structures are described with an additional geometrical operation beyond a translation operator. LÄS MER
