  1. 6. Activation, adhesion and motility of B lymphocytes in health and disease

    Författare :Natalija Gerasimcik; Eva Severinson; Victor Tybulewicz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; B cells; activation; motility; IL-4; EBV; Dock10; Cdc42; Rac1 and Rac2; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B cells can be activated by T cell-dependent stimuli, such as CD40 ligation and cytokines, which induce extensive proliferation, class switch recombination and somatic hypermutation.Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) can also induce B cell activation by mimicking T cell help through its main oncoprotein, latent membrane protein 1 (LMP-1). 2. 7. Human Papilloma Virus, Epstein-Barr Virus, and Herpes Simplex Virus Type-1 in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinomas from Three Populations

    Författare :Jamshid Jalouli; Jan-Michaél Hirsch; Tina Dalianis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; HPV; EBV; HSV; Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma; Leukoplakia; Oral Lichen Planus; Oral Submucuos Fibrosis; Toombak; Betel quid; Snuff; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Most oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is believed to develop via a multistep process of cumulative gene damage in epithelial cells. Increasing incidence of OSCC and evidence that traditional risk factors may not be responsible directed us to investigate the prevalence of virus in pre- and malignant samples. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Oral cancer with special reference to virus detection and quantitative gene expression

    Författare :Miranda Shojaeian Jalouli; Lars Sand; Jan Hirsch; Torbjörn Ramqvist; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background. Head and neck cancers (HNC) are among the most common malignancies worldwide, and about 90–92% of oral neoplasias are oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC). Alcohol and tobacco consumption have been recognized as the main risk factors for OSCC development. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Hodgkin Lymphoma : Studies of Advanced Stages, Relapses and the Relation to Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas

    Författare :Rose-Marie Amini; Volker Diehl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Hodgkin lymphoma; advanced stages; relapse; p53; EBV; Rb; cell line; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : The relationship between Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is not entirely elucidated and a clonal relation may be present more often than previously believed. Mechanisms of tumour progression and resistance to therapy are poorly understood.Between 1974 and 1994 all individuals in Sweden with both HL and NHL were identified. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia of B cell type (B-CLL) is the most commonform of leukemia in the Western countries. The signals regulating theexpansion of the B-CLL clone in vivo is yet far from being fully understood. LÄS MER
