1. Active Control of Propeller-Induced Noise in Aircraft : Algorithms & Methods
Sammanfattning : In the last decade acoustic noise has become more and more regarded as a problem. In cars, boats, trains and aircraft, low-frequency noise reduces comfort. Lightweight materials and more powerful engines are used in high-speed vehicles, resulting in a general increase in interior noise levels. LÄS MER
2. Filter bank design for digital speech signal processing : methods and applications
Sammanfattning : Adaptive filter theory is an important subject in the field of signal processing and has numerous applications in speech processing, telecommunications and mechanical engineering. Examples in speech processing include suppression of background noise, echo cancellation and dereverberation (acoustic path equalization). LÄS MER
3. Robust broadband beamforming and digital filter design : methods and applications
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis consists of a summary and six parts corresponding to six different papers. There are two published and three submitted journal papers, and one research report. The summary will highlight the main results and emphasize the interrelationships between different parts. LÄS MER
4. Downstream migration of salmonids in regulated rivers : Non-conventional methods for fish diversion
Sammanfattning : Passages through hydropower plants can be fatal for downstream migrating salmonids (Salmo spp.). This is particularly true for large adults that are returning to the ocean after spawning. LÄS MER
5. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning
Sammanfattning : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. LÄS MER
