   Sammanfattning : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to study health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and return to work in the first 3 years following a breast cancer diagnosis, and to identify clinical and contextual factors associated with these outcomes.Method: The four studies were part of a population-based cohort study including women identified in the Breast Cancer Quality Register in central Sweden.    Sammanfattning : Background: It is a well-known phenomenon that nurses and other oncology staff have a tendency to ascribe patients with cancer more problems and suffering than the patients themselves report. Aim: The overall aim of the present thesis was therefore to gain increased knowledge and understanding of dis/agreement between patients with cancer and nurses regarding their perception of patients’ situation and of the importance of patient-nurse dis/agreement in clinical practice.    Sammanfattning : The main aims were to investigate emotional reactions during in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment among women and men, attitudes of IVF couples towards cryopreserved embryos and public attitudes towards various aspects of oocyte donation in Sweden.
