Sammanfattning : The achievement of more cost-effective welfare production and the improvement of investment coordination at the regional level are prominent topics in public debate in Sweden concerning the promotion of Inter-Municipal Cooperation. In 2002, legislation (SFS 2002:34) made it possible to establish an extended ‘Inter-Municipal Cooperation’ through a self-governing regional body (RSO) for the purpose of creating more space for municipalities to act on the regional level. Sammanfattning : Obey the Law and Do a Little Bit Extra? The paper provides evidence on how firms’ stakeholder orientation is associated with standard measures of corporate governance using a panel of 1778 US companies during the period of 1995-2006. We construct two binary indicators, one measuring stakeholder hostility and the other stakeholder friendliness using data from KLD ratings agency. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This dissertation has identified, developed and empirically tested concepts associated with the capacity of chairpersonship to promote innovation in entrepreneurial small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 14. Opposition and adjustment to industrial ‘greening’ : the Swedish forest industry’s (re)actions regarding energy transition – 1989-2009
Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses how the Swedish forest industry has (re)acted regarding the energy transition and, in particular, regarding the reconstruction of the electricity and forest resources in Sweden during the 1989–2009 period. The thesis consists of four papers that analyse how the Swedish forest industry by means of energy management practices at individual pulp and/or paper mills, in corporate strategies performed by CEOs and boards of directors, and via its industry association, has dealt with mounting political and public demands for the industry to become ‘greener’.
