  1. 1. Assessment for learning : a case study in mathematics education

    Författare :Andreia Balan; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :assessment for learning; scoring rubrics; peer assessment; peer feedback;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to introduce a formative-assessment practice in a mathematics classroom, by implementing the five strategies of the formative-assessment framework proposed by Wiliam and Thompson (2007), in order to investigate: (a) if this change in assessment practices had a positive influence on students’ mathematical learning and, if this was the case, (b) which these changes were, and (c) how the teacher and students perceived these changes in relation to the new teaching-learning environment. The study was conducted in a mathematics classroom during the students’ first year in upper-secondary school. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics in student talk : Inclusion as a topic when students talk about learning and teaching in mathematics

    Författare :Helena Roos; Despina Potari; Hanna Palmér; Nùria Planas; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; inclusion in mathematics; discourse analysis; students meaning s ; Matematikens didaktik; Mathematics education; Mathematical Education;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to research and practice within the field of special education in mathematics with more knowledge about, and an understanding of, students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics education. Three research questions guide the study: What meaning(s) is/are ascribed, and how is inclusion used, in mathematics education research? What meaning(s) do the students ascribe to inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching? And what frames students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching?The first part of this study began with a systematic literature review on the notion of inclusion in mathematics education research, and the search resulted in 1,296 research studies. 3. 3. Formative assessment : teacher knowledge and skills to make it happen

    Författare :Charlotta Vingsle; Torulf Palm; Tomas Bergqvist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; formative assessment; teacher knowledge; mathematics; interactive dialouges; compulsory school; didactics of mathematics; matematikdidaktik;

    Sammanfattning : Several studies have demonstrated that substantial learning gains are possible when teachers use formative assessment in their classroom practice. At the heart of most definitions of formative assessment lies the idea of collecting evidence of students’ thinking and learning, and based on this information modifying teaching to better meet students’ needs. 4. 4. Gymnasieelevers kommunikativa strategier i matematikklassrummet : En fallstudie av ett smågruppsarbete om derivata

    Författare :Marie Bergholm; Christer Bergsten; Iiris Attorps; Ewa Bergqvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mathematical discourse; commognition; participation; matematizing; subjectifying; identifying; small group learning; Matematisk diskurs; kommognition; deltagande; matematisera; identifiering; subjektifiering; lärande i smågrupper;

    Sammanfattning : Denna fallstudie belyser gymnasieelevers arbete i små grupper med ett problem kopplat till derivata och syftar till att belysa faktorer som gynnar eller hindrar individernas deltagande i och utveckling av den matematiska kommunikationen i klassrummet. Studien har sin teoretiska förankring i Anna Sfards kommognitiva ramverk, där lärande i matematik ses som deltagande i en matematisk diskurs. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Integrating Computational Thinking into Swedish Compulsory Education with Block-Based Programming : A case study from the perspective of teachers

    Författare :Lechen Zhang; Jalal Nouri; Peter Parnes; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computational thinking; Compulsory education; Programming; Information Society; informationssamhället;

    Sammanfattning : Computational thinking (CT) is increasingly widespread in compulsory education worldwide, and programming is considered to be an appropriate and standard way of delivering CT. In particular, block-based programming languages (BBPLs) such as Scratch have successfully attracted an enormous amount of young users and have begun to predominate in classrooms over the past decade.
