  1. 1. Occupant Neck Muscle Modelling in Rear-End Crashes

    Författare :I Putu Alit Putra; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Active Neck Muscle Responses; Finite Element; Whiplash Associated Disorders; Female; Human Body Model;

    Sammanfattning : The ultimate goal of the present research is to incorporate active and passive neck muscle effects in a female Finite Element (FE) Human Body Model (HBM). The application of interest is Whiplash Associated Disorders (WAD), which can occur in a low-speed rear-end impact. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Active Muscle Responses in a Finite Element Human Body Model

    Författare :Jonas Östh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; feedback control; autonomous braking; finite element; human body model; active muscle; posture maintenance; reflexive response;

    Sammanfattning : The development of automotive safety systems is moving towards an integration of systems thatare active before and during an impact. Consequently, there is a need to make a combinedanalysis of both the pre-crash and the in-crash phases, which leads to new requirements forHuman Body Models (HBMs) that today are used for crash simulations. 3. 3. Autonomic reactivity in muscle pain : clinical and experimental assessment

    Författare :Nebojsa Kalezic; Eugene Lyskov; Stein Knardahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; autonomic reactivity; stress; chronic pain; experimental pain; back; shoulder; neck; Physiology; Fysiologi; Physiology;

    Sammanfattning : There are numerous indications of possible involvement of the autonomic nervous system in the genesis of chronic pain. The possibility exists that sympathetic activation is related to motor dysfunction and changes in sensory processing, which have otherwise been implicated in musculoskeletal disorders. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The impact of visually demanding near work on neck/shoulder discomfort and trapezius muscle activity : Laboratory studies

    Författare :Camilla Zetterberg; Hans O Richter; Mikael Forsman; Malin Josephson; Hanne Mari Schiøtz Thorud; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Accommodation; Asthenopia; Computer work; Eye-neck head stabilization; Muscle activity; Neck pain; Visual Attention; Visual demand; Visual ergonomics; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Musculoskeletal discomfort in the neck and shoulders is common among workers performing visually demanding near work, e.g., on a computer screen, and sustained low-level muscle activity during such work can lead to work-related pain. LÄS MER

  5. 5. An Average Female Head-Neck Finite Element Model with Reflexive Neck Muscles

    Författare :I Putu Alit Putra; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite Element; Human Body Model; Whiplash Injury; Active Neck Muscle;

    Sammanfattning : Several factors potentially contribute to the risk of whiplash injuries; one of them is the neck muscle activities. Muscle activities in the neck have been shown to influence the head-neck kinematics during whiplash-like rear impacts. LÄS MER
