1. Polymer Bound Water-Soluble Metal Phosphine Complexes-Preparation, Characterisation and Catalytic Application
Sammanfattning : Four new water-soluble phosphines have been prepared by utilising water-soluble polymers as charge carrying units. Coupling of methyl-4-(diphenylphosphino)-benzyl-amine or 4-diphenylphosphino benzaldehyde to poly-acrylic acid and poly-ethylene imine, respectively, afford the ligands PAA-PNH and PEI-PNH. LÄS MER
2. Improved Molecular Understanding of Lipid-Based Formulations : for Enabling Oral Delivery of Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs
Sammanfattning : The majority of emerging drug candidates are not suited for conventional oral dosage forms, as they do not dissolve in the aqueous environment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Consequently, a large number of enabling formulation strategies have emerged. LÄS MER
3. Size Characterisation of Water-Soluble Polymers Using Asymmetrical Flow Field-Flow Fractionation
Sammanfattning : Size, as expressed by molar mass, radius of gyration or hydrodynamic radius, for example, is a fundamental parameter of polymers in solution. Thus, there is a strong need for the characterisation of both the size and shape of polymers, particularly of those utilised in various industrial applications. LÄS MER
4. Dual isotope (13C-14C) Studies of Water-Soluble Organic Carbon (WSOC) Aerosols in South and East Asia
Sammanfattning : Atmospheric aerosols may be emitted directly as particles (primary) or formed from gaseous precursors (secondary) from different natural and anthropogenic sources. The highly populated South and East Asia regions are currently in a phase of rapid economic growth to which high emissions of carbonaceous aerosols are coupled. LÄS MER
5. The influence of biogenic organic compounds on cloud formation
Sammanfattning : Aerosols and clouds provide the largest uncertainty in the atmospheric radiation budget. The main focus of this thesis was to investigate the ability of organic compounds in aerosol particles to form clouds, and more specifically those emitted by living organisms. LÄS MER
