    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis is to explore young women’s lived experience of the body, which, on one hand, is viewed as deviant – the disabled body – and, on the other hand, is viewed as accomplished – the sporting body. The questions posed in the thesis are the following: how do the young women handle the two subject positions that emerge as a result of the perception of them as respectively deviant and accomplished, which forms of femininity are available to them and what are the strategies of resistance they develop. The Swedish Sport Confederation and the two associations with the largest number of female members, the Swedish Gymnastics Federation and the Swedish Football Association, have been studied.     Sammanfattning : Gambling has become widely accepted in Sweden during the 1990s, with betting shops, gambling machines and casino-like gambling in pubs and restaurants, as well as Bingo-Lotto in our living rooms. Beyond the expansion in availability of legal gambling opportunities, the most notable change is the shift from gambling in specific venues to gambling in a much wider range of social settings.
