   Sammanfattning : Light and oxygen generate harmful reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the lens, causing biochemical changes that gradually disarrange the lens fibres resulting in light scattering and loss of transparency.    Sammanfattning : Oxidation of low density lipoprotein (LDL) may result in its uptake by macrophages and ensuing foam cell formation. Thus, oxidised LDL may play an important role in atherogenesis.
