  1. 1. Population-based prediction of atrial fibrillation

    Författare :Gustav Smith; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atrial fibrillation; prediction; epidemiology; genetics; natriuretic peptide; heart failure;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia and increases in prevalence. As AF confers increased risk of morbidity, stroke, dementia and mortality, a major objective of cardiovascular epidemiology today is the development of tools for prediction and prevention of AF and its consequences. 2. 2. Pharmacometric Investigations of Prediction Precision and Advances of Models for Composite Scale Data

    Författare :Gustaf Wellhagen; Maria C. Kjellsson; Bengt Hamrén; Per Olsson Gisleskog; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacometrics; modelling; non-linear mixed effects modelling; composite scale data; total score data; total score analysis; precision prediction; bounded integer; bounded integer model; IRT-informed total score analysis; item response theory-informed; mixed models for repeated measures; MMRM; dose-response; dose-response mixed models for repeated measures; DR-MMRM; HbA1c models; fit-for-purpose analysis; clinical trial analysis; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Clinical trials are needed to evaluate new treatments. In late-stage clinical trials, failures are mostly due to lack of efficacy. Fit-for-purpose analysis methods will likely increase the success rates and advance drug development by providing higher precision to support decisions such as go/no-go, dose selection, or sample size. 3. 3. Bilinear Regression and Second Order Calibration

    Författare :Marie Linder; Pieter Kroonenberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chemometrics; calibration; multivariate; hyphenated methods; matrix data; bilinear model; least squares; singular value decomposition; generalized rank annihilation; trilinear decomposition; parallel factor analysis; principal components regression; partial least squares; prediction; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : We consider calibration of second-order (or "hyphenated") instruments for chemical analysis. Many such instruments generate bilinear two-way (matrix) type data for each specimen. The bilinear regression model is to be estimated from a number of specimens of known composition. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity

    Författare :Marius Sommer; Louise Rönnqvist; Charlotte Häger; Nicola Hodges; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Motor timing; rhythmicity; timing training; golf shot; golf swing; kinematics; precision; variability; coordination; movement dynamics; soccer; fMRI; mirror neurons; action observation; cerebellum; perception - action.; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer. 5. 5. Identification of manifest diabetes and complication development in gestational diabetes mellitus. The pursuit for biomarkers

    Författare :Jonatan Dereke; Lund Medicin; []
    Nyckelord :Gestational diabetes mellitus; Pregnancy; Hyperglycaemia; Biomarkers; Inflammation; Autoantibodies; Prediction;

    Sammanfattning : Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a type of diabetes which is first recognised during pregnancy. In the county of Skåne in Southern Sweden, over 2% of all pregnancies are complicated by GDM, a number that is generally several times higher worldwide. LÄS MER
