  1. 1. Tight juntion in ovarian surface epithelium and epithelial ovarian tumors

    Författare :Yihong Zhu; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :junction; claudin; ovarian surface epithelium; epithelial ovarian tumor; TGF-?1;

    Sammanfattning : Epithelial ovarian cancer originating from ovarian surface epithelium (OSE) is the most lethal type of gynecological cancer among women worldwide. The poor understanding of the cellular and molecular events associated with ovarian carcinogenesis leads to difficulties in early diagnosis and in efficient treatment. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Human ovarian surface epithelium and ovarian cancer. Aspects of growth regulation

    Författare :Karin Ivarsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ovarian cancer ovarian surface epithelium interleukin-8 C EBP gonadotropins steroids;

    Sammanfattning : The ovary is covered with a single layer of epithelial cells, the ovarian surface epithelium (OSE). The OSE is degraded during every menstrual cycle to enable ovulation, and is subsequently reconstituted to cover the rupture site. This single cell layer is proposed as the origin for about 90 % of all ovarian cancers. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the mechanism of ovulation : studies on rabbit ovarian follicles with special reference to the overlying surface epithelium

    Författare :Stefan Cajander; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER

  4. 4. Endometrial, embryonic and ovarian aspects of human implantation

    Författare :Lusine Aghajanova; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of the studies was to add more understanding to the mechanism of human embryo implantation, which will allow us to improve pregnancy rates in assisted reproduction. The simultaneous positive spatial and temporal expression of pinopodes with LIF, LIFR and HBEGF proteins in endometrial samples from healthy women was found. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Role of estrogen receptor beta in epithelia lacking estrogen receptor alpha expression

    Författare :Andrea Morani; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Estrogen Receptors; Extracellular Matrix; Prostate Cancer; Lung Diseases; Ovarian Follicle;

    Sammanfattning : Estrogens influence the physiology of many organs by activation of the nuclear receptors ERalpha and ERbeta. The epithelium of ventral prostate, ovarian granulosa cells and lung, are ERalpha-negative but express high levels of ERbeta. This thesis focuses on the role played by ERbeta in ERalpha-negative epithelium. LÄS MER
