  1. 31. Bone Regeneration with Cell-free Injectable Scaffolds

    Författare :Gry Hulsart Billström; Sune Larsson; Kenneth B Jonsson; Jöns Hilborn; Håkan Engqvist; Olle Svensson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bone tissue engineering; hydrogel; computed tomography; positron emission tomography; large femoral bone defect; rat model; hydrogel; in vivo; osteogenesis; bone regeneration; 3R; single-photon emission computed tomography; bone morphogenetic protein 2; calcium phosphates; injectable; bisphosphonate;

    Sammanfattning : Bone is a remarkable multifunctional tissue with the ability to regenerate and remodel without generating any scar tissue. However, bone loss due to injury or diseases can be a great challenge and affect the patient significantly. Autologous bone grafting is commonly used throughout the world. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Knee joint laxity and kinematics after anterior cruciate ligament rupture : roentgen stereophotogrammetric and clinical evaluation before and after treatment

    Författare :Håkan Jonsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anterior cruciate ligament; Kinematics; Anterior-posterior laxity; Surgery; Roentgen stereophotogrammetric analysis; Muscle strength; Functional tests;

    Sammanfattning : Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) increases anterior-posterior (AP) laxity. The treatment aims to reduce or teach the patient to control this instability. Altered kinematics due to absent ligament function may result in knee arthrosis. This study evaluated the clinical and functional results of reconstructive surgery. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Soft Tissue Aspects of the Shoulder Joint

    Författare :Shwan Khoschnau; Hans Rahme; Karl Michaelsson; Lars Adolfsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cruciate ligament; shoulder dislocation; polymorphism; collagen; biomechanical properties; rotator cuff tear; shoulder ultrasound; adhesive capsulitis; MRI;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study different aspects of the soft tissues of the shoulder joint. The variation in the quality of the tendons and ligaments can be explained by genetic factors. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Chronic lateral instability of the ankle joint : natural course, pathophysiology and steroradiographic evaluation of conservative and surgical treatment

    Författare :Richard Löfvenberg; Per Renström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ankle-Joint-Instability; Kinematics; Ligament; Osteoarthritis; Orthosis; Proprioception; Radiology; Reaction time; Stereo-Photogrammetry; Subtalar; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic lateral instability of the ankle (CLI), defined as frequent sprains and recurrent giving way, difficulty in walking and running on uneven surface, is often connected with pain and swollen ankles. It occurs in 10 to 20 percent after acute ankle injuries. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Kinematics and fixation of total knee arthroplasties : a clinical, radiographic, scintimetric, and roentgen stereophotogrammetric evaluation

    Författare :Kjell G. Nilsson; Johan Kärrholm; Leif Ryd; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Total knee arthroplasty; tibial component; kinematics; micromotion; loosening; scintimetry; roentgen stereophotogrammetric analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Aseptic loosening of the tibial component is an important cause of failure after total knee arthroplasty. Bone destruction often claimed to be caused by the cement makes the revision difficult. In order to treat younger patients, uncemented fixation has been introduced, but the etiology to loosening is multifactorial and only partly known. LÄS MER
