  1. 11. Railway wheel steel behaviour upon thermo-mechanical loadings

    Författare :Erika Steyn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; residual stress; thermo-mechanical fatigue; railway wheel steel; pearlitic microstructure; severe block braking; repair welding;

    Sammanfattning : Optimised railway maintenance techniques such as rail grinding and milling, or rail repair welding, are vital to more sustainable rail networks. As demands on the railway increases, the need to better understand the material behaviour during local heating events occurring during maintenance is amplified. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Deformation and Fatigue Behaviour of Aluminium Alloys for High Specific Power IC Engine Applications

    Författare :Elanghovan Natesan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cylinder head; aluminium; constitutive models; thermo-mechanical fatigue; fatigue; ageing; mechanical behaviour; A356;

    Sammanfattning : The development towards higher specific power and lower displacement engines in recent years has placed increasingly high thermal loads on the internal combustion engine materials. Further, the advent of hybrid power trains placing higher demands on quick starts and a rapid approach to maximum power necessitates the automotive industry to move towards a more robust computational thermo-mechanical fatigue life prediction methodology to develop reliable engines and reduce developmental costs. 3. 13. Simulation of mechanical cutting

    Författare :Vahid Kalhori; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with simulation of mechanical cutting. It focuses on orthogonal cutting. Thus it is possible to use two-dimensional models. The strong thermo-mechanical coupling must be accounted for in the model. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Meso-Mechanical Modeling and Analysis of Adhesive Layers

    Författare :Kent Salomonsson; Ulf Stigh; Per Ståhle; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adhesive layer; Meso-mechanical; Representative Volume Element; Large curvatures; Interphase elements; Evolution algorithm; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik; Technology; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the modeling, simulation and analysis of adhesive layers. By use of an in situ scanning electron microscopy study it is found that the adhesive studied in the present thesis has a very complex structure with two different compounds, a mineral and an epoxy/thermoplastic blend. Sammanfattning : Design research, sensation and perception, hard metrology, emotional functions, semantics, surface roughness, product interaction, core values, total appearance… the list of scientific phrases never ends. Yet, what do they mean and how shall we use it when we are communicating with the industry and our end users? Is it possible to link the product experience to process parameters, put a number onto it? When you can measure spoken needs or even better, implied needs, of a product, and relate that data to the production, it is possible do create advanced products with high interaction stimuli. LÄS MER
