  1. 26. Performance Measures of Road Infrastructure - A Life Cycle Thinking Approach

    Författare :Babak Ebrahimi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road infrastructure; Life Cycle Assessment LCA ; Lifetime Estimation; Geographic Information System GIS ; Life Cycle Thinking LCT ; Material Flow Analysis MFA ;

    Sammanfattning : Roads have been an important asset of human society and the approach we adopt towards planning, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining of the road infrastructure has significant consequences in the long-term for not only the humans, but all species on planet Earth. Hence, the lifecycle performance of the road infrastructure that sustain our socioeconomic development with a low environmental impact, while fulfilling their technical and functional requirements is of critical importance and needs to be improved. 2. 27. Life Cycle Assessment of Asphalt Roads : Decision Support at the Project Level

    Författare :Ali Azhar Butt; Björn Birgisson; Nicole Kringos; Susanna Toller; Stephen T. Muench; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Asphalt roads; life cycle assessment; feedstock energy; warm mix asphalt additives; green procurement; decision support; laboratory investigation; pavement design.; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Transport infrastructures such as roads are assets for the society as they not only ensure mobility but also strengthen society’s economy. Considerable amount of energy and materials, that include bitumen, aggregates and asphalt, are required to build and maintain roads. LÄS MER

  3. 28. Development of a Generic Model for Life Cycle Inventory and Environmental Assessment of Upstream Processes for Electronic Products

    Författare :Anders Andrae; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System-In-a-Package; electronic products; upstream processes; life cycle inventory; life cycle assessment;

    Sammanfattning : The goal with the present thesis is to develop tools, methods and models to assess the upstream processes in the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology for current and new electronic products. The goal is to get a better understanding on how to collect data to be used in a life cycle inventory (LCI) and use life cycle approaches to environmentally assess the electronics. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Strategic Life-Cycle Modeling and Simulation for Sustainable Product Innovation

    Författare :Henrik Ny; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sustainable product innovation; planning; strategy; backcasting; life-cycle assessment LCA ; strategic life-cycle management SLCM ; systems; modeling; simulation;

    Sammanfattning : Many specific methods and tools have been developed to deal with sustainability problems. However, without a unifying theory it is unclear how these relate to each other and how they can be used strategically. A Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development (FSSD) is being developed to cover this need for clarity and structure. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Indicators for Measuring the Sustainability of Urban Water Systems - A Life Cycle Approach

    Författare :Margareta Lundin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; indicators; wastewater systems; LCA; decision-making; environmental systems analysis; sewage sludge; sustainable development; life cycle assessment; urban water systems;

    Sammanfattning : Infrastructure for the provision of drinking water and the treatment of wastewater and stormwater, is essential for an urban society. In this project methods are developed which measure and assess the sustainability of urban water systems. LÄS MER
