21. Mixing patterns in Rushton-turbine-agitated reactors
Sammanfattning : This Ph.D. Thesis concerns the study of mixing in Rushton turbine agitated reactors. In industrial (bio)reactors, mixing is recognised as a limiting factor that significantly affects the performance of the process. LÄS MER
22. Towards optical diagnostics and control in aerotaxy semiconductor nanowire growth
Sammanfattning : Aerosol growth of semiconductor nanowires has the potential to dramatically lower the cost of for solar cell production. The objective of the work was to study the growth of aerosol nanoparticles and nanowires, in order to understand the chemical and physical processes involved. LÄS MER
23. Laser diode systems for photodynamic therapy and medical diagnostics
Sammanfattning : This work concerns techniques for improvement of the coherence properties of diode lasers so that they may be used in two specific medical applications: (Interstitial) photodynamic therapy (PDT) and laser-induced fluorescence diagnostics. In the first application, spatial coherence is crucial, since the treatment light should be delivered through relatively thin optical fibers to optimize treatment and to facilitate minimally invasive treatment. 24. Non-Invasive Monitoring of Architectural Heritage
Sammanfattning : The on-site documentation and examination of architectural heritage has presented challenges for traditional analysis methods in the form of, among other things, large complex structures, sites and environmental conditions. In recent years there has been growing interest in assessing progressing deterioration processes and material analysis, with an emphasis on sustainable conservation and maintenance planning. LÄS MER
25. High Repetition Rate Laser Diagnostics for Combustion Applications
Sammanfattning : High repetition rate laser diagnostics has proven to be a useful tool for studying combustion phenomena. Laser techniques are, in general, relatively non-intrusive and have the potential to measure specific species at very low concentrations and with extremely high temporal resolution. LÄS MER
