  1. 1. Acetylcholine in Spinal Pain Modulation : An in vivo Study in the Rat

    Författare :Klas Abelson; Urban Höglund; Ernst Brodin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Laboratory animals; Pain; Nociception; Antinociception; Acetylcholine; Muscarinic; Nicotinic; Spinal cord; Microdialysis; Försöksdjursvetenskap; Laboratory animal science; Försöksdjursvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The spinal cord is an important component in the processing and modulation of painful stimuli. Nerve signals from the periphery are relayed and further conducted to the brain (nociception) in the spinal cord, and the most essential modulation of painful information (antinociception) occurs here. 2. 2. Myc-induced Lymphomagenesis : In vivo assessment of downstream pathways

    Författare :Sara Rimpi; Jonas Nilsson; Juha Klefström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Myc; lymphomagenesis; Aurora kinases; polyamine; glycolysis; targeting; mouse models of cancer; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Myc oncogenes encode transcription factors that bind to E-box sequences in DNA, driving the expression of a large number of target genes and are deregulated in approximately 70% of human cancers. Deregulated Myc expression cause enhanced proliferation (which is counteracted by apoptosis), angiogenesis and cancer. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Connective tissue contraction in wound healing : An experimental study in vivo and in vitro

    Författare :M. Reza Ghassemifar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Contraction of connective tissue is an important part of tissue repair that reduces the wound space and helps to decrease the formation of scar tissue, both of which are needed to restore tissue integrity. In the present study, certain cellular mechanisms that are active during connective tissue contraction were assessed and the influence of transforming growth factor-. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Role of Microvascular Pericytes in the Generation of Pro-fibrotic Connective Tissue Cells : Investigations in vitro and in Reactive Tissues in vivo

    Författare :Jakob Karén; Christian Sundberg; Gunilla Westergren-Thorsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pericyte fibroblast differentiation fibrosis; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Microbiology; Mikrobiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; Medical Biochemistry; Medicinsk biokemi; Cellforskning; Cell Research; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Pericytes are cells of mesenchymal origin located on the abluminal side, juxtapositioned to the endothelial cells in capillaries, venules and small arterioles. They are important for maintaining vessel integrity in resting tissues as well as the formation and stabilization of new vessels. LÄS MER
