6. High Performance Manufacturing of Advanced Thin Plates ─ Forming of Titanium and Stainless Steel Materials
Sammanfattning : The manufacturing industry represents a highly important sector of the Swedish economy. The increasing demands placed on the quality and performance of products that are manufactured places increasing demands on the manufacturing processes involved. LÄS MER
7. Simulation based design : structural optimization at early design stages
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to evaluate and develop different modelling tools which can be used in the vehicle crashworthiness design process. These tools will improve the understanding of the vehicle behaviour and thus improve the crashworthiness of the vehicle. LÄS MER
8. Modelling of Forming and Welding in Alloy 718
Sammanfattning : The reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are currently a key factor for the aviation industry due to major concerns about climate change and more restrictive environmental laws. One way to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is by significantly decreasing the vehicle’s weight while increasing engine's efficiency. LÄS MER
9. Aspects on finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes
Sammanfattning : This thesis has focused on four different aspects of finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes. Four substantial research areas are the development of a methodology for predicting the limiting strains in connection with the Forming Limit Diagram, the applicable mode of procedure for finite element simulation of the hydromechanical deep drawing process, the adaptive mesh refinement strategy based on gradients of the effective plastic stresses and strains; and the reliability and sensitivity assessments within sheet metal forming processes.
