1. Computer use @ work : Psychosocial work environment and attitudes toward computers from a work content perspective
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at investigating computer use at work from a more holistic work content perspective by also studying non-computer work content, in contrast to the previous approach in occupational health research that focused almost solely on computer work content. It was argued here that non-computer work content has also become significant to the overall work situation for computer users. LÄS MER
2. Planning of Environments for People with Physical Disabilities Using Computer Aided Design
Sammanfattning : In the area of environment adaptations for people with physical disabilities, it is of vital importance that the design is optimized considering the human-environment interactions. All involved persons in such a planning process must be given sufficient support in understanding the information, so that everyone can participate actively. LÄS MER
3. Method Development for Computer Aided Engineering for Aircraft Conceptual Design
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the work done to implement new computational tools and methods dedicated to aircraft conceptual design sizing and optimization. These tools have been exercised on different aircraft concepts in order to validate them and assess their relevance and applicability to practical cases. LÄS MER
4. A first sketch of Computer Aided Ideation : Exploring CAD tools as externalization media in design ideation
Sammanfattning : Even though Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools have changed the way designers work in most parts of the design process, designers still mostly use pen-and-paper sketching when generating design ideas. Previous studies exploring the use of CAD tools for design ideation have concluded that the tools available at the time did not support reflective conversation, serendipitous interpretation and creativity, making them unsuited for design ideation. 5. Resampling Evaluation of Signal Detection and Classification : With Special Reference to Breast Cancer, Computer-Aided Detection and the Free-Response Approach
Sammanfattning : The first part of this thesis is concerned with trend modelling of breast cancer mortality rates. By using an age-period-cohort model, the relative contributions of period and cohort effects are evaluated once the unquestionable existence of the age effect is controlled for. LÄS MER
