  1. 1. Coeliac Disease in Childhood : On the Intestinal Mucosa and the Use of Oats

    Författare :Elisabet Hollén; Karl-Eric Magnusson; Marie-Louise Hammarström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; celiaki; havre; avenin; anti-aveninantikroppar; NO; tight junctions; occludin; claudin; Medical microbiology; Medicinsk mikrobiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Celiaki, eller glutenintolerans, är en av våra vanligaste kroniska sjukdomar i barnaåren. Sjukdomen orsakar en kraftig inflammation i tunntarmens slemhinna efter intag av glutenhaltig föda hos personer med ärftlig benägenhet att utveckla celiaki. En frisk tarm är kraftigt veckad för att öka ytan för upptag av näringsämnen. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The burden of celiac disease and the value of having it diagnosed

    Författare :Fredrik Norström; Anneli Ivarsson; Pekka Collin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Public health; folkhälsa; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Celiac disease is a chronic disease characterized by intolerance to gluten. It is considered a public health problem affecting about 1% of Western populations, but, with most cases still undiagnosed. A glutenfree diet is the only effective treatment for the disease. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Searching for Celiac Disease Screening-detected celiac disease in an HLA-genotyped birth cohort

    Författare :Sara Björck; Celiaki och diabetes; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bone mineral density; inflammation; cytokine; screening; HLA; tissue transglutaminase antibody; children; Celiac disease; vitamin D; parathyroid hormone;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: Celiac disease is a common immune mediated enteropathy strongly associated with HLA-DQB1*02 (DQ2), *0302 (DQ8), or both and the presence of tissue transglutaminase autoantibodies (tTGA). Prevalence studies have revealed that most affected individuals go undetected because of subclinical signs or being asymptomatic rendering screening a method for identification. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Perfect Storm? Gluten and type 1 diabetes

    Författare :Emma Adlercreutz; Celiaki och diabetes; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NKG2D; Celiac disease autoimmunity; Gluten; Type 1 diabetes; Perinatal risk;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The general objective of the present research was to study the association between type 1 diabetes and celiac disease, and the effects of dietary gluten on the risk of developing type 1 diabetes. More specific aims were as follows: to estimate the prevalence of celiac-disease-associated autoantibodies in children with type 1 diabetes; to study the connection between non-HLA genetic risk markers and autoantibodies associated with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease during the first year after diagnosis of type 1 diabetes; to investigate the effect of gluten on the risk of developing type 1 diabetes; to evaluate the impact of perinatal factors on the risk of developing both type 1 diabetes and celiac disease. 5. 5. Immunogenetics of Type 1 diabetes and Celiac disease

    Författare :Shehab Abdulaziz Alshiekh; Celiaki och diabetes; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; celiac disease; type 1 diabetes; children; genetics; human leukocyte antigen; next generation sequencing;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractThe primary purpose of understanding disease etiology is to explain how a specific phenotype is determined by genotype. In pursue of this aim, exploring the diversity in DNA sequence variants that affect biomedical traits, especially those related to the onset and progression of genetically determined human disease.
