21. The Representation of Atmospheric Boundary Layer Processes in Global Climate Models
Sammanfattning : The atmospheric boundary layer is the lowest part of the atmosphere, which is in direct contact with the surface. It is here, in this turbulent layer, that the exchange of heat, moisture and momentum between the surface and the atmosphere takes place. LÄS MER
22. Monoterpenes from the boreal coniferous forest : their role in atmospheric chemistry
Sammanfattning : The goal of this work has been to increase our knowledge of the role of the monoteipenes emitted by the boreal coniferous forest in atmospheric chemical processes. To this end, measurements of air concentrations and emission rates have been made in forests of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) at 4 sites throughout Sweden, during the summers of 1989 and 1990. 23. Experimental Study and Modelling of Spacer Grid Influence on Flow in Nuclear Fuel Assemblies
Sammanfattning : The work is focused on experimental study and modelling of spacer grid influence on single- and two-phase flow. In the experimental study a mock-up of a realistic fuel bundle with five spacer grids of thin plate spring construction was investigated. A special pressure measuring technique was used to measure pressure distribution inside the spacer. LÄS MER
24. A study of some aspects of gas-slag-metal interactions : Towards dynamic process model and control
Sammanfattning : The present thesis deals with the development of a new type of dynamic model for metallurgical reactors. It also covers some of the theoretical aspects of steelmaking that is necessary to include in such an application. The thesis consists of modeling work, high temperature experiments and cold model experiments. LÄS MER
25. Experimental and numerical investigations of a ventilation strategy – impinging jet ventilation for an office environment
Sammanfattning : A well-functioning, energy-efficient ventilation system is of vital importance to offices, not only to provide the kind of comfortable, healthy indoor environment necessary for the well-being and productive work performance of occupants, but also to reduce energy use in buildings and the associated impact of CO2 emissions on the environment. To achieve these goals impinging jet ventilation has been developed as an innovative ventilation concept. LÄS MER
