  1. 16. Acquisition of Capabilitities through International Technology Transfer

    Författare :Sverker Alänge; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Industrialization; Technology transfer; Network; Entrepreneurship; Industrial economics; Innovation; Diffusion; Developing countries; Infant industry; Motivation;

    Sammanfattning : The focus in this thesis is on the acquisition of static and dynamic capabilities in LDC industry. This has been studied in small industries in Tanzania, which were started through international technology transfer, in which small producing firms from Sweden acted as technology suppliers (The Sister Industry Programme). 2. 17. Proton transfer across and along biological membranes

    Författare :Johan Berg; Peter Brzezinski; Artur Osyczka; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biological membranes; cardiolipin; cytochrome bo3; cytochrome c oxidase; energy conversion; fluorescence correlation spectroscopy FCS ; localized coupling; mitochondria; proton transfer; Rcf1; respiration; single-enzyme measurement; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Proton-transfer reactions belong to the most prevalent reactions in the biosphere and make life on Earth possible, as they are central to energy conversion. In most known organisms, protons are translocated from one side of a membrane to the other, which generates an electrochemical gradient that drives ATP synthesis. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Structure-Function Relationships in RuII Complexes with Unconventional Ligands: Photophysical and Photochemical Studies

    Författare :Joachim Wallenstein; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; structure-function relationship; spectral component analysis; photochemistry; RuII complexes; photoreaction; hole-transfer;

    Sammanfattning : The rich photophysics, photochemistry and electrochemistry of RuII complexes have attracted intense research interest in widely disparate fields. A large portion of the studied and applied complexes are derived from the archetypical [Ru(bpy)3]2+ (bpy is 2,2’-bipyridine), which absorbs in the visible region, displays a long lived (~1 μs), emissive metal-to-ligand charge transfer state, and shows reversible electrochemistry in both the ground and excited state. 4. 19. Studies on spinach plastocyanin and mutants : Expression in Escherichia coli, folding and function

    Författare :Mikael Ejdebäck; Örjan Hansson; Miguel A. De la Rosa; Göteborgs Universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; plastocyanin; electron transfer; copper; protein-protein interactions; protein expression; folding; site-directed mutagenesis; NMR; Naturvetenskap; Natural sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Photosynthesis is a process in which photons from sunlight excite chlorophylls in the thylakoid membranes of plants, algae and cyanobacteria. The photo-oxidised reaction centre chlorophyll P700 is re-reduced by an electron transferred from the soluble, blue copper protein plastocyanin. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Cognitive training in young and old adults : Transfer, long-term effects, and predictors of gain

    Författare :Petra Sandberg; Anna Stigsdotter Neeyl; Michael Rönnlund; Boo Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Cognitive training; aging; old adults; executive function; life-span; individual differences; episodic memory; inhibition; shifting; updating; cognitive control; strategy training; mnemonics; predictors; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Aging, also in the absence of pathological conditions, is associated with cognitivedecline, especially in so called fluid abilities, such as episodic memory andexecutive functions. Due to an ongoing demographic shift, a larger part of thepopulation will reach higher ages, and more people will be affected by age-relatedcognitive decline. LÄS MER
