1. Solving Analytical Challenges with Thin Layer Electrochemistry
Sammanfattning : The decentralization of chemical sensing to attain environmental-related information is today highly desirable to increase the knowledge on biological or geological events as well as effluents. The current state of the field moves toward submersible probes; chemical sensors implemented into submersible devices for quantifying analytes over extended times. LÄS MER
2. Electrochemical and mechanical thin film sensors
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the study of thin-film sensor technologies, novel microfabrication technologies, and thin-film technology in general. The work discusses electrochemical sensors and mechanical sensor technologies as well as fabrication strategies for them. LÄS MER
3. Fabrication and Corrosion Properties of Nickel Silicides Thin Films
Sammanfattning : Surface engineering is a vital issue in engineering materials design. The enhancement of surface properties extends the materials lifetime and improves the materials performance without changing the bulk properties. Thin film deposition is one of the most commonly applied techniques in this field. LÄS MER
4. Development of Sheathless Electrospray Mass Spectrometry and Investigations of Associated Electrochemical Processes – A Fairy Tale
Sammanfattning : In microscale separations, such as capillary electrophoresis and -liquid chromatography, the liquid flow rates are in the order of nanoliters per second. If such flow rates are to be interfaced with a mass spectrometer (MS) using electrospray (ES) ionization, without loss of separation efficiency, each fraction of the analyte zone must remain undisturbed by the high voltage contact necessary for ES. 5. Micro-galvanic effects and corrosion inhibition of copper-zinc alloys
Sammanfattning : With the advancement and accessibility of local probing techniques that can operate at the submicron scale it has become possible to analyse the local corrosion properties of industrially important metallic materials and relate these properties to microstructure characteristics of the same materials. In this doctoral study the focus has been on copper-zinc samples, both as industrial brass alloys and as micro-patterned copper-zinc samples. LÄS MER
