    Sammanfattning : Increases in air traffic and denser population around airports have led to stricterregulations on aircraft noise. High noise levels from high-speed aircraft can causehearing damage in pilots and the airfield personnel.     Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is experimental studies of electron-transfer processes in ion-atom collisions at velocities significantly higher than typical orbital velocities of electrons in bound states of atoms or molecules.     Sammanfattning : Biomolecular structure elucidation is crucial for our detailed understanding of various biological processes, since there is an intimate relationship between the biomolecular function and structure. In this respect, isolated biomolecules, despite being outside of their natural environment, are perfect model systems for in-depth studies of various fundamental interactions that govern the formation of biomolecular structure.
