  1. 1. Chemical Tuning of the Magnetic Interactions in Layer Structures

    Författare :Sabina Ronneteg; Rolf Berger; J. Paul Attfield; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inorganic chemistry; neutron powder diffraction; magnetometry; layered magnetic structure; incommensurate helical structure; ThCr2Si2 type structure; antiferromagnetism; ferromagnetism; electronic structure calculations; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Thin metal films have found their use in many magnetic devices. They form pseudo two-dimensional systems, where the mechanisms for the magnetic interactions between the layers are not completely understood. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Structure and Dynamics of Hydrated Biopolymers

    Författare :Poornima Ramamohan; Jakob Wohlert; Istvan Furo; Fritjof Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Hydrated Polysaccharides; Molecular Dynamics Simulations; Structure-Function Properties; Convergence of Equilibrium Timescales; Chemical Heterogeneity; Hydrerade polysackarider; molekylära dynamiksimuleringar; struktur- funktionsegenskaper; konvergens av jämviktstidskalor; kemisk heterogenitet; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrated polysaccharide systems primarily using xylans along with mutans and alternans were studied using long atomistic simulations over a few microseconds to analyse structure-function relationships and nanoscale interactions with moisture. The influence of various structural and chemical factors such as alignment, nature of glycosidic linkage, effect of moisture / chemical substitutions was explored with a focus on structure-dynamics correlations to aid in the effective functionalisation of biomaterials for the development of a green, circular bioeconomy. 3. 3. Melody Beyond Notes : A Study of Melody Cognition

    Författare :Sven Ahlbäck; Karl Olof Edström; Jan Ling; Alf Björnberg; Carol L Krumhansl; Kungl. Musikhögskolan; []
    Nyckelord :Melody; Cognition; Melodic segmentation; Melodic Parallelism; Pitch Structure; Meter; Rhythm; Grouping; Swedish Folk Music; Music Theory; Computer-aided analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Melody beyond notes - a study of melody cognition Keywords: Melody, Cognition, Melodic segmentation, Melodic Parallelism, Pitch Structure,Meter, Rhythm, Grouping, Swedish Folk Music, Music Theory, Computer-aided analysis This thesis is a music theoretical approach to cognition of surface structure in monophonic melodies. It can briefly be described as a study into what extent we may acquire a common experience of melodic structure, such as phrase structure, only from listening to a melody. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Application of a Sandwich Construction on a Superstructure of a High Speed Ferry

    Författare :Gaurav Ahuja; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; catamaran; pitch connecting moment; carbon fibre; natural frequency analysis; light weight structure; structural optimisation.; torsional moment; glass fibre; Sandwich construction; finite element analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Usage of light weight materials has gained momentum in the marine market in the last few decades. This rise has lead to some ships using parts fabricated out of materials like glass and carbon fibre. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Dynamics of Vehicle-Deck Interactions

    Författare :Junbo Jia; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vehicle-deck interactions; Lightweight structure; Vehicle dynamics; Vibration analysis.; Lashing; Vehicle securing; Ship motions; Modal testing; Finite element analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns the modelling and analysis of vehicle-ship deck interactions. The physical modelling of vehicles is discussed together with the modelling of supporting structures/ship decks, and the interactions between vehicles and supporting structures. LÄS MER
