  1. 21. Channel Estimation Aspects of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces

    Författare :Doga Gürgünoglu; Gabor Fodor; Emil Björnson; Jaap van de Beek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reconfigurable intelligent surface; channel estimation; pilot contamination; positioning; angle of arrival estimation; integrated sensing and communications; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the sixth generation of wireless communication systems (6G), there exist multiple candidate enabling technologies that help the wireless network satisfy the ever-increasing demand for speed, coverage, reliability, and mobility. Among these technologies, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) extend the coverage of a wireless network into dead zones, increase capacity, and facilitate integrated sensing and communications tasks by consuming very low power, thus contributing to energy efficiency as well. 2. 22. Pilot power management in radio network planning for WCDMA networks

    Författare :Iana Siomina; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The high price of auction-based 3G licences and the growing competition in telecommunications market is putting enormous pressure on manufacturers and operators to configure the next-generation mobile network in the most cost-effective way possible providing high quality 3G services. Therefore, aiming to improve overall network performance and to ensure efficient utilization of network resources, radio network planning and optimization became even more important thar. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Experimental Investigations on Natural Gas-Diesel Dual Fuel Combustion

    Författare :Pablo Garcia; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dual Fuel; Diesel; Natural Gas; Pilot Injection; Combustion Efficiency; Methane; Nitrogen Oxides; Lean operation; Ignition;

    Sammanfattning : Natural gas has been traditionally applied in spark-ignited combustion engines due to similar combustion characteristics for methane gas and gasoline. However, spark ignition requires a low compression ratio to avoid knock problems and therefore, gas engines have lower efficiency than diesel engines. LÄS MER

  4. 24. High Spectral Efficiency Fiber-Optic Transmission Systems Using Pilot Tones

    Författare :Mikael Mazur; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Coherent Optical Communications; Analog Optical Signal Processing;

    Sammanfattning : Modern fiber-optic communication systems combine state-of-the-art components with powerful digital signal processing (DSP) to maximize the system spectral efficiency (SE). Systems rely on wavelength-division multiplexing, including superchannel transmission, to enable transmission over the available bandwidth which reaches about 10 THz when accounting for the so-called C and L bands. 5. 25. Pharmaceuticals – improved removal from municipal wastewater and their occurrence in the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Berndt Björlenius; Gen Larsson; Antonius J. A. van Maris; Hallvard Ødegaard; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Advanced wastewater treatment; WWTP; pilot plant; pharmaceutical residues; removal of pharmaceuticals; activated carbon; ozonation; nanofiltration; biomarker; Baltic Sea; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmaceutical residues are found in the environment due to extensive use in human and veterinary medicine. The active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) have a potential impact in non-target organisms. Municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are not designed to remove APIs. LÄS MER
