  1. 1. Prognostic role of the tumour microenvironment in esophago-gastric, pancreatic and periampullary adenocarcinoma: B cells and beyond

    Författare :Richard Fristedt; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :Polymeric immunoglobulin receptor; B cells; Plasma cells; Esophageal adenocarcinoma; gastric adenocarcinoma; Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma; Periampullary adenocarcinoma; Prognosis and survival; Immune system;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer development depends on cells aquiring a skillset of limitless growth and finally invasive properties to allow for metastasis, as summarised by the six hallmarks of cancer. Recently four more hallmarks have been added: genomic instability, deregulating cellular metabolism, tumour-promoting inflammation and avoiding immune destruction. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Prognostic factors in periampullary adenocarcinoma. A retrospective study over an 11 year period

    Författare :Jacob Elebro; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Periampullary adenocarcinoma; Pancreatic cancer; bile duct cancer; ampullary adenocarcinoma; duodenal adenocarcinoma; Immunohistochemestry; prognosis;

    Sammanfattning : Periampullary adenocarcinoma, including pancreatic cancer, has a poor prognosis that has not improved in the last decades. Therefore, in order to find more effective treatment regimens, it is necessary to gain more insight into the biology and clinical behaviour of these tumours. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The leukocyte complexity and mutational landscape of periampullary adenocarcinoma. Morphology matters

    Författare :Sebastian Lundgren; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; periampullary adenocarcinoma; pancreatic cancer; immune microenviroment; prognosis; macrophages; natural killer cells; natural killer T cells; T cells; B cells;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Periampullary adenocarcinomas are a heterogenous group of tumours with poor prognosis that hasnot improved considerably the last decades. Tumour morphology, i.e. intestinal type (I-type) or pancreatobiliarytype (PB-type), has been demonstrated to be a more relevant prognostic factor than anatomical origin. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biomarkers in pancreatic and other periampullary cancers - some familiar and one new

    Författare :Margareta Heby; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Periampullary adenocarcinoma; Pancreatic cancer; Biomarkers; Immunohistochemistry; Tissue microarrays;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractBackground: Adenocarcinomas arising in the area around the papilla of Vater are referred to as periampullary adenocarcinomas and are of four different anatomical origins: pancreas, distal bile duct, ampulla and duodenum. These heterogeneous tumors are usually divided into two morphological subtypes, pancreatobiliary type (PB-type) and intestinal type (I-type), which provides more important prognostic information than tumor origin. 5. 5. Irreversible electroporation of pancreatic adenocarcinoma

    Författare :Christopher Månsson; Britt-Marie Karlson; Anders Nilsson; Per Hellman; Sara Regnér; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pancreatic Neoplasms; Electroporation; Interventional Ultrasonography; CA 19-9.;

    Sammanfattning : Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a severe diagnosis with poor prognosis. Radical surgery is the only treatment that can possibly lead to a cure, and even with surgery, the 5-year survival is only 20%–25%. The majority of patients cannot be resected due to metastases or having a tumour that is too advanced locally (LAPC) with encasement of blood-vessels. LÄS MER
