16. Investigations on the Oxidation of Iron-chromium and Iron-vanadium Molten Alloys
Sammanfattning : With the progress of high alloy steelmaking processes, it is essential to minimize the loss of valuable metals, like chromium and vanadium during the decarburization process, from both economic as well as environmental view points. One unique technique to realize this aim, used in the present work, is the decarburization of high alloy steel grades using oxygen with CO2 in order to reduce the partial pressure of oxygen. LÄS MER

18. Study of Sulfide Capacity of Slag and Sulfur Removal from Hot Metal
Sammanfattning : The present study aims at investigating the desulfurization process in hot metal and sulfide capacity of slags. The missing experimental data of sulfide capacities in Al2O3-CaOMgO-SiO2 system at 1713 K, 1743 K, 1773 K, 1823 K, 1873 K and in the Al2O3-CaO-SiO2 system at 1873 K were investigated under wellcontrolled oxygen potentials. 19. Slag/Metal Metallurgy in Iron and Steel Melts
Sammanfattning : In this work, the metal and slag phase mixing in three steps of a ladle refining operation of steel melts and for an oxygen balance during cooling of cast iron melts have been studied at two Swedish steel plants and at two Swedish cast iron foundries, respectively. In order to predict the oxygen activity in the steel bulk in equilibrium with the top slag as well as in metal droplets in the top slag in equilibrium with the top slag, three slag models were used.
