16. Bacterial cytochromes P450-Studies on Cytochrome P450 102A2 and P450 102A3 of Bacillus subtilis
Sammanfattning : Cytochromes P450 constitute a super-family of heme containing mixed function mono-oxygenases that is found in all branches of life. They introduce single oxygen atoms, mostly in the form of hydroxyl groups, into lipophilic substances and thereby render them more hydrophilic and susceptible to further reactions. LÄS MER
17. Opioid-induced cholecystokinin release in the CNS-neurochemical mechanisms and effects of sciatic nerve lesion
Sammanfattning : Cholecystokinin (CCK) and opioid peptides have a similar distribution in the nervous system and CCK has been demonstrated to counteract opioid-induced analgesia at spinal and supraspinal level. An increased spinal release of CCK has been suggested to be a mechanism for the relative resistance to opioid analgesic drug in certain pain conditions following nerve lesions (i. LÄS MER
18. Energy Efficient Renovation Strategies for Swedish and Other European Residential and Office Buildings
Sammanfattning : The high energy use in the European building stock is attributable to the large share of old buildings with poor energy performance. Energy renovation of buildings is therefore vital in the work towards energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact in the EU. LÄS MER
19. Regulation and actions of insulin-like growth factor binding proteins in vascular smooth muscle cells
Sammanfattning : Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) has multiple actions on vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMCs) function. In the circulation and in extracellular fluids, IGF-I is complexed to high affinity IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs), which modulate IGF-I bioactivity. The present study focused on expression and regulation of IGFBPs in VSMCs. LÄS MER
20. Propagation of weak shock waves in an elliptical cavity
Sammanfattning : The propagation of weak shock waves in a planar elliptical cavity is studied theoretically and experimentally. The results are of interest in the design of an elliptical high-speed water jet generator operating in a transient fashion with electrically generated shocks in the acoustic regime. LÄS MER
