  1. 1. Diagenesis and Sequence Stratigraphy : an integrated approach to constrain evolution of reservoir quality in sandstones

    Författare :João Marcelo Ketzer; Karl Ramseyer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : Diagenesis and sequence stratigraphy have been formally treated as two separate disciplines in sedimentary petrology. This thesis demonstrates that synergy between these two subjects can be used to constrain evolution of reservoir quality in sandstones. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Parameters Controlling Distribution of Diagenetic Alterations within Fluvial and Shallow Marine Sandstone Reservoirs : Evidence from the Libyan Basins

    Författare :Muftah Khalifa; Hemin Koyi; Joao Marcelo Medina Ketzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diagenesis; Structural setting; Depositional facies; Basin thermal history; Ther- mal Hot basinal brines; Fluid inclusions; Raman Spectrometry; Stylolites; Hydro-carbon migration; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis demonstrates that geological setting, depositional facies, open system flux of hot basinal brines and descending of shallow waters have a strong impact on the distribution of the diagenetic alterations within continental and paralic/shallow marine sandstones which in turn control the quality and heterogeneities of the reservoirs.Geological setting controls the mineralogical and textural maturity of sandstone, whereas depositional facies control the pore water chemistry (marine, brackish or meteoric), sedimentary texture and sand body geometry. 3. 3. Baltic Sea sediments : Source and sink for metal contamination

    Författare :Sina Shahabi-Ghahfarokhi; João Marcelo Ketzer; Alessandro Amorosi; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Baltic Sea; sediments; acid sulfate soil; metal; remediation; reoxygenation; X-ray absorption spectroscopy; Environmental Chemistry; Miljökemi; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : The Baltic Sea sediments record spatial and temporal information about metalsand metalloids (hereafter referred to as metals), which could help to understandthe past and present contamination sinks in different basins. In addition, giventhe expanding anoxic zones in the Baltic Sea, the response of metals to artificialreoxygenation is poorly understood. LÄS MER
