  1. 1. The role and mechanism of ubiquitin system in innate immune regulation

    Författare :Swarupa Panda; Nelson O. Gekara; Fredrik Elgh; Anna Överby; Geert van Loo; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; The ubiquitin system; Deubiquitinase; MYSM1; Innate immune regulation Toll-like receptor; RIG-l like receptors; Cytoplasmic DNA receptors; NOD-like receptors; Francisella tularensis; Immune subversion; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) include the cell surface or endosomal membrane localized Toll-like receptors (TLRs) and the cytoplasmic PRRs such as RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs), NOD-like receptors (NLRs) and cytoplasmic DNA receptors (CDRs). Triggering of PRRs culminates in the transcriptional induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines and type I interferons (IFNs) that coordinate protection against pathogens but require tight control to avert inflammatory diseases. 2. 2. Regulation of human immune responses to allergens

    Författare :Anna-Carin Lundell; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :recognition receptors; antigen-presenting cells; sCD14; sCD83; T cells; neonates; gut microflora; staphylococcus aureus; allergens; allergy; children;

    Sammanfattning : The incidence of allergic diseases is increasing in the industrialized countries. Epidemiological studies indicate that there is an association between exposure to high levels of endotoxin or cat allergen during infancy and reduced risk of developing allergic diseases later in childhood. 3. 3. Roles in innate immune receptors : host – pathogen interactions and strengthening vaccines

    Författare :Sanna Nyström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : During the past decades our knowledge of innate immunology has increased drastically. This has improved our understanding about how innate immune cells can distinguish self from non-self, commensal bacteria from pathogens, and how it affects later adaptive immune responses. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Nasal epithelial cells : innate immunity and inflammation

    Författare :Lotta Tengroth; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The surface epithelium that lines the nasal passages is often the first tissue in the airway to encounter inhaled pathogens. It collaborates closely with the innate immune system, a subsystem of the immune system that defends the host from infection by organisms, mainly by initiating a local inflammatory reaction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Influence of maternal allergy on the intra uterine environment and on immune functions of the neonate

    Författare :Ulrika Holmlund; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Allergy; CD14; cord blood; cytokines; human placenta; IgE; Toll-like receptors;

    Sammanfattning : The prevalence of IgE mediated allergic diseases has drastically increased during the past few decades and there is no satisfactory explanation. A family history of allergic disease is clearly a strong risk factor, bin in view of the rapidity of the increase in allergy prevalence environmental factors are likely to have played a crucial role.
