  1. 6. Three-dimensional guidance for Endovascular Aortic Repair

    Författare :Giasemi Koutouzi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; anatomy deformation; CBCT; EVAR; image fusion; image guidance; image registration;

    Sammanfattning : Image fusion (IF) of preoperative computed tomography (CT) with intraoperative cone-beam CT (CBCT) is a potentially powerful tool for guidance during endovascular aortic repair (EVAR). It may improve intraoperative anatomic visualization and reduce doses of radiation and contrast medium. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms. Aspects on a Novel Technique

    Författare :Martin Malina; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; migration.; endoleak; stent; stentgraft; endovascular repair; Aneurysm; therapy; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : A new concept of treating abdominal aortic aneurysms was studied during a three-year period. Instead of open repair, graft insertion was accomplished endovascularly from the groins. The graft was attached by expandable stents to the non-dilated infrarenal aorta, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Physics of blood flow in arteries and its relation to intra-luminal thrombus and atherosclerosis

    Författare :Jacopo Biasetti; T. Christian Gasser; Danny Bluestein; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Vascular pathologies such as Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) and atherosclerosis are complex vascular diseases involving biological, mechanical, and fluid-dynamical factors. This thesis follows a multidisciplinary approach and presents an integrated fluid-chemical theory of ILT growth and analyzes the shear-induced migration of red blood cells (RBCs) in large arteries with respect to hypoxia and its possible role in atherosclerosis. 4. 9. On intestinal ischaemia after aortoiliac surgery : Epidemiological, clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Martin Björck; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Ischaemia; intestines; colon; ischaemic colitis; aorta-abdominal; aortic aneurysm-abdominal; aortic rupture; atherosclerosis; postoperative complications; cohort studies; case-control studies; clinical protocols; experimental design; incidence; risk factors; diagnosis; treatment outcome; intra-mucosal pH; pHi; swine; splanchnic circulation; haemodynamics; dobutamine; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : An important cause of death among patients undergoing surgery of the abdominal aorta is intestinal ischaemia. In the Swedish Vascular Registry 2930 aortoiliac operations were identified. The complication was studied in a combined cohort and case-control study, and multivariate analysis performed. The incidence of intestinal ischaemia was 2. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Hemodynamic and cardiometabolic studies in patients with distributive circulatory dysfunctions : with special reference to the effects of the beta-1-adrenoreceptor agonist prenalterol

    Författare :Sebastian Reiz; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; aortic aneurysm surgery; gram negative septic shock; hemodynamics; myocardial metabolism; thermodilution; thoracic epidural block; volume loading; prenalterol;

    Sammanfattning : A total of 49 patients were studied, using invasive hemodynamic techniques with systemic arterial, pulmonary artery and right atrial pressure recordings together with thermodilution cardiac output determinations. Sixteen of the patients were also subjected to cardiometabolic studies, using measurement of coronary sinus blood flow by the continuous thermodilution technique and analyses of oxygen content and lactate concentration in the systemic and coronary circulation.
