16. Modal Decomposition of Separated Nozzle Flow
Sammanfattning : The applicability of two different eigenvalue algorithms coupled with an axisymmetric RANS solver to predict the eigenmodes of separated supersonic flow inside an axisymmetric convergent-divergent nozzle was investigated. These are the Arnoldi and the Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) algorithms, respectively. LÄS MER
17. Angular dynamics of non-spherical particles in linear flows related to production of biobased materials
Sammanfattning : Dispersed particle flows are encountered in many biological, geophysical but also in industrial situations, e.g. during processing of materials. In these flows, the particles usually are non-spherical and their angular dynamics play a crucial role for the final material properties. LÄS MER
18. Numerical methods for load and response prediction for use in acoustic fatigue
Sammanfattning : Acoustic fatigue can occur in structural elements of an aircraft exposed to very high sound pressures. To deal with acoustic fatigue, mainly empirical methods have been applied and often late in the design phase. Current design guidelines have three main limitations. First, they do not say anything about the load intensities. LÄS MER
19. Global stability and feedback control of boundary layer flows
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the stability of generic boundary layer flows is studied from a global viewpoint using optimization methods. Global eigenmodes of the incompressible linearized Navier-Stokes equations are computed using the Krylov subspace Arnoldi method. LÄS MER
20. Analysis of heat transfer and fluid flow in the resin transfer moulding process
Sammanfattning : This thesis contains an analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer problems in the resin transfer moulding (RTM) process for manufacturing of polymer based fibre composites and it consists of five separate papers. The permeability of unidirectional fabrics, that are often used in advanced composites, is considered in Paper A and a theory for the permeability dependence on the micro geometry is developed.
