  1. 21. Det svårgripbara nätverket : en sociologisk studie av företagare i nätverk

    Författare :Martin Lind; Mats Ekström; Göran Ahrne; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; networks; network analysis; social networks; organization; flexible specialization; entrepreneur; enterprise; production; cooperation; social capital; strategic networks; SME; critical realism; blockmodeling; sociologi; Sociology; Sociologi; Sociologi; Sociology;

    Sammanfattning : The questions for this study are: 1. What are networks? 2. How do networks work? These questions are answered by means of two different investigations. The first is chiefly theoretical and the second is primarily empirical. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Global functional association network inference and crosstalk analysis for pathway annotation

    Författare :Christoph Ogris; Erik Sonnhammer; Alfonso Valencia; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biological networks; genome wide functional association networks; global gene association networks; gene networks; protein networks; functional association; functional coupling; network biology pathway analysis; pathway annotation; pathway enrichment; network-based enrichment; enrichment; Biochemistry towards Bioinformatics; biokemi med inriktning mot bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Cell functions are steered by complex interactions of gene products, like forming a temporary or stable complex, altering gene expression or catalyzing a reaction. Mapping these interactions is the key in understanding biological processes and therefore is the focus of numerous experiments and studies. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Equilibrium and Dynamics on Complex Networkds

    Författare :Gino Del Ferraro; Erik Aurell; Bernard Derrida; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Statistical mechanics; complex networks; spin systems; non equilibrium dynamics; generalized belief propagation; message passing; cavity method; variational approaches; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Complex networks are an important class of models used to describe the behaviour of a very broad category of systems which appear in different fields of science ranging from physics, biology and statistics to computer science and other disciplines. This set of models includes spin systems on a graph, neural networks, decision networks, spreading disease, financial trade, social networks and all systems which can be represented as interacting agents on some sort of graph architecture. 4. 24. The Finland-Swedish Wheel of Migration : Identity, Networks and Integration 1976-2000

    Författare :Charlotta Hedberg; Göran Hoppe; Solveig Mårtensson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Social and economic geography; Cultural migration; Integration and assimilation; Ethnic identity construction; Networks; Spatial identities; Finland Swedes; Kulturgeografi; Human geography; Kulturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines the role in the migration process between Sweden and Finland of the Swedish-speaking minority group, the Finland Swedes. The causes underlying migration, as well as the integration of the group in Sweden, constitute the main focuses of the study. LÄS MER

  5. 25. An exploration of freshwater microbial ecology : from streamlined genera to global networks

    Författare :Rhiannon Mondav; Stefan Bertilsson; Phyllis Lam; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microbiology; ecology; networks; streamlined; aquatic; Biology with specialization in Limnology; Biologi med inriktning mot limnologi;

    Sammanfattning : Microbes are the main drivers of biogeochemical cycles on Earth and even though freshwaters cover only a small area of terrestrial surfaces their contribution to global cycles is important. Global cycles are measured by exchanges between systems e.g. water to atmosphere or lithosphere and are mediated by microbial communities. LÄS MER
