  1. 1. Phenotype and function of intestinal CD103+ dendritic cells

    Författare :Elin Jaensson Gyllenbäck; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CD103; dendritic cell; CX3CR1; small intestine; MLN; CCR9; Vitamin A; retinoic acid;

    Sammanfattning : Mucosal tissues such as the intestine present an enormous surface area to the outside environment and are continually exposed to foreign antigens in food and microflora. Thus, the intestinal mucosa must must remain tolerant to these innocuous antigens while at same time be able to mount effective immune responses to pathogens. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The role of intestinal dendritic cells and the microbiota during oral Salmonella infection

    Författare :Maria Fernández-Santoscoy; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Salmonella; dendritic cells; NK-kB; MyD88; CD40; CD103; IRF4; microbiota;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal pathogen Salmonella causes millions of infections per year worldwide. The immune response to these bacteria involves interactions between several cell types via specific molecules and is under the influence of the intestinal microbiota. Dendritic cells (DC) initiate immune responses including those to Salmonella. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Immune Cell Profiling of Colorectal Cancers: Unravelling the Connection to Treatment Responses

    Författare :Azar Rezapour; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rectal cancer; Tumor infiltrating T cell; MxA; Interferon type I; CD39; CD103; PD-1; cytokines; response to the treatment;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the interplay between tumor cells and the immune system holds the key to the development of more effective treatments for cancer patients. Therefore, we have emphasized our efforts on deciphering the intricacies of these interactions to pave for more effective therapeutic strategies. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The ontogeny and function of intestinal dendritic cells

    Författare :Emma Persson; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mesenteric lymph nodes; Intestine; Dendritic cells; Gut-homing; Th17 cells; Oral tolerance; Immunity;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal mucosa presents a huge surface area to the external environment and the intestinal immune system is continually exposed to a wide array of foreign antigens derived from resident intestinal microbiota as well as dietary constituents, including food proteins. In order to maintain intestinal homeostasis, the intestinal immune system relies on the ability to generate tolerogenic responses to innocuous antigen while maintaining the ability to develop effective immune responses to intesinal pathogens. 5. 5. Composition and maintenance of skin resident T-cells in health and disease

    Författare :Elena Hoffer; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Tissue-resident memory T cells (TRM) reside in healthy skin at sites of previous infections. Upon re-infection, TRM cells rapidly respond by initiating tissue inflammation and exert effector functions to eliminate pathogens. TRM cells are potent effector cells and as such, they are key players in focal inflammatory skin diseases. LÄS MER
