    Sammanfattning : In the Baltic Sea dense cyanobacterial blooms occur regularly during late summer. Since the dominant bloom-forming cyanobacteria, Nodularia spp. and Apanizomenon spp. are capable of fixing atmospheric dinitrogen, the macronutrient predominantly limiting their growth is phosphorus.     Sammanfattning : An elevated plasma level of homocysteine has been suggested as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The objectives of this thesis were to study the influence of renal function on homocysteine levels in patients with coronary artery disease and to explore the association of elevated plasma levels of homocysteine to oxidative stress, inflammation, and endothelial dysfunction.     Sammanfattning : The Cauchy–Riemann equations admit a bilinear multiplication of solutions, since the product of two holomorphic functions is again holomorphic. This multiplication plays the role of a nonlinear superposition principle for solutions, allowing for construction of new solutions from already known ones, and it leads to the exceptional property of the Cauchy–Riemann equations that all solutions can locally be built from power series of a single solution z = x + iy ∈ C.
