  1. 1. Role of collagen type II specific antibodies in arthritis

    Författare :Estelle Bajtner; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serologi; transplantation; serology; Immunology; tolerance; collagen type II; CIA; B cell epitope; antibody; arthritis; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease resulting in destruction of cartilage and bone. The role of the B cells in RA pathogenesis clearly involves autoantibodies. Collagen type II (CII)-specific antibodies have been identified in RA synovium and synovial fluid. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Functions of glycoprotein G of herpes simplex virus type 2

    Författare :Staffan Görander; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Herpes simplex virus type 2; glycoprotein G-2; type specific serology; vaccine; Tanzania;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) is a common sexually transmitted infection with more than 500 million individuals infected world-wide. A major global health problem is that HSV-2 infection facilitates the spread of HIV. This epidemiological situation warrants the development of a vaccine to reduce the spread of HSV-2. LÄS MER

  3. 3. T cells in Autoimmunity: studies on murine type II collagen-induced arthritis

    Författare :Alexandre Corthay; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunologi; Autoimmunity T lymphocytes collagen-induced arthritis Glycosylation TCR; transplantation; serology; Immunology; serologi; Skeleton; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) is a mouse model for rheumatoid arthritis, in which autoimmunity is induced by immunization with type II collagen (CII), a cartilage-specific protein. In the present work, alpha/beta T cells were shown to be required for CIA and for the production of anti-CII IgG antibodies, whereas gamma/delta T cells were neither necessary nor sufficient for development of CIA. 4. 4. Analysis of effector pathways in arthritis

    Författare :Nandakumar Kutty Selva; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunologi; transplantation; Genetik; cytogenetics; Arthritis; mice; monoclonal antibody; collagen type II; Histology; histochemistry; cytochemistry; Histologi; tissue culture; cytokemi; histokemi; Genetics; vävnadskultur; serologi; cytogenetik; Immunology; serology;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a multifactorial, polygenic autoimmune disease. For effective treatment and control of RA, understanding of disease pathways and identification of genes involved are essential. Animal models are efficient tools to identify such pathogenic mechanisms and genes underlying the disease process. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Herpes simplex virus infection: epidemiological aspects and analysis of the type-specific antibody response

    Författare :Petra Tunbäck; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; herpes simplex virus; first episode genital herpes; seroepidemiology type-specific antibody-response; glycoprotein G-1; epitope-mapping;

    Sammanfattning : Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2) are ubiquitous viruses, often leading to asymptomatic infections in humans. However, different clinical presentations can be seen including recurrent oral or genital lesions, meningitis and neonatal herpes. LÄS MER
