  1. 1. Improving the accuracy of gene regulatory network inference from noisy data

    Författare :Deniz Seçilmiş; Erik L.L. Sonnhammer; Pierre Geurts; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry towards Bioinformatics; biokemi med inriktning mot bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Gene regulatory networks (GRNs) control physiological and pathological processes in a living organism, and their accurate inference from measured gene expression can identify therapeutic mechanisms for complex diseases such as cancers. The biggest obstacle in achieving the accurate reconstruction of GRNs is called ‘noise’, which considerably alters the measured gene expression because the noise generally dominates the biological signal. 2. 2. In silico modelling for refining gene regulatory network inference

    Författare :Thomas Hillerton; Erik L. L. Sonnhammer; Richard Bonneau; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gene regulatory networks; simulation; benchmarking; method development; biokemi med inriktning mot bioinformatik; Biochemistry towards Bioinformatics;

    Sammanfattning : Gene regulation is at the centre of all cellular functions, regulating the cell's healthy and pathological responses. The interconnected system of regulatory interactions is known as the gene regulatory network (GRN), where genes influence each other to maintain strict and robust control. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Control Aspects of Complex Hydromechanical Transmissions : with a Focus on Displacement Control

    Författare :L. Viktor Larsson; Petter Krus; Björn Eriksson; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Cities, as home to the majority of the world’s people, are significant sites for addressing challenges of achieving sustainability and securing human wellbeing. Urban environments are complex social-ecological systems, and meeting these challenges requires better understandings of the interactions of social and ecological elements. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Asine and the Argolid in the Late Helladic III Period : A Socio-Economic Study

    Författare :Birgitta Sjöberg L.; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The Late Helladic era of Greek prehistory has long held a fascination with archaeologists and scholars of Mediterranean ancient history. In the Argolid, which forms the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese, much attention has focused on palatial sites such as Mycenae and Tiryns. LÄS MER
