21. Lake Hydrodynamics and Pollution Transport under Climate Change : The Case of Lake Victoria
Sammanfattning : A very small part of the total earth’s water is freshwater (only 2.5 %). Unfortunately, due to climate change and pervasive manmade activities, surface freshwater quality in many places of the world has become degraded. LÄS MER
22. Thiol-ene and Thiol-ene-epoxy Based Polymers for Biomedical Microdevices
Sammanfattning : Within healthcare there is a market pull for biomedical devices that can rapidly perform laboratory processes, such as diagnostic testing, in a hand-held format. For this reason, biomedical devices must become smaller, more sophisticated, and easier to use for a reasonable cost. LÄS MER
23. Heat Transfer and Hydrodynamics in Falling Film Evaporation of Black Liquor
Sammanfattning : The evaporation plant is one of the major steam consumers in kraft pulp mills, which are the dominant type of chemical pulp mill in Sweden. Previous studies have shown potential to decrease the live steam demand for the pulp process, e.g. LÄS MER
24. Non-intrusive instrumentation and estimation : Applications for control of an additive manufacturing process
Sammanfattning : For integration of additive manufacturing into industrial production, there is a need for capable yet robust automation solutions. Such solutions are to ensure consistent process outputs, both with regard to deposit geometry and material properties. LÄS MER
25. Integration of Surface Acoustic Wave and Microfluidic Technologies for Liquid-Phase Sensing Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses a new concept for construction of a novel SAW in-liquid sensor employing surface acoustic wave resonance (SAR) in a one-port configuration. In this concept, the reflective gratings of a one-port SAW resonator are employed as mass loading-sensing elements, while the SAW transducer is protected from the measurement environment, reducing power losses significantly.
