  1. 6. On Fundamental Elements of Visual Navigation Systems

    Författare :Abujawad Rafid Siddiqui; J. Rafid Siddiqui; Sweden Karlskrona Blekinge Tekniska Högskola Institutionen för kommunikationssystem; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robot navigation; localization; visual mapping; scene understanding; semantic mapping;

    Sammanfattning : Visual navigation is a ubiquitous yet complex task which is performed by many species for the purpose of survival. Although visual navigation is actively being studied within the robotics community, the determination of elemental constituents of a robust visual navigation system remains a challenge. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Contributions to Semantic Dependency Parsing : Search, Learning, and Application

    Författare :Robin Kurtz; Marco Kuhlmann; Lilja Øvrelid; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Semantic dependency parsing is the task of mapping natural language sentences into representations of their meaning in the form of directed graphs on words. These bilexical graphs are designed to capture the sentence-internal predicate-argument relationships – they tell us “who did what to whom” in the given sentence. LÄS MER

  3. 8. The three-dimensional normal-distributions transform : an efficient representation for registration, surface analysis, and loop detection

    Författare :Martin Magnusson; Achim Lilienthal; Wolfram Burgard; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NDT; 3D sensing; surface representation; registration; loop detection; surface analysis; mobile robotics; localisation; mapping; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer and Systems Science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with three-dimensional (3D) sensing and 3D scan representation. Three-dimensional records are important tools in several disciplines; such as medical imaging, archaeology, and mobile robotics. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Functional understanding of space : Representing spatial knowledge using concepts grounded in an agent's purpose

    Författare :Kristoffer Sjöö; Patric Jensfelt; David Vernon; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; spatial representation; autonomous robots; spatial understanding; semantic mapping; spatial relations; visual search; robot search;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the role of function in representations of space by robots - that is, dealing directly and explicitly with those aspects of space and objects in space that serve some purpose for the robot. It is suggested that taking function into account helps increase the generality and robustness of solutions in an unpredictable and complex world, and the suggestion is affirmed by several instantiations of functionally conceived spatial models. 5. 10. Multispectral Remote Sensing and Deep Learning for Wildfire Detection

    Författare :Xikun Hu; Yifang Ban; Ioannis Gitas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; active fire detection; biome; multi-criteria; Sentinel-2; Landsat-8; burned area mapping; deep learning; semantic segmentation; machine learning.; aktiv branddetektering; biom; multikriterietillvägagångssätt; Sentinel-2; Landsat-8; kartläggning av bränt område; djupinlärning; semantisk segmentering; maskininlärningsmetoderna; Geoinformatik; Geoinformatics;

    Sammanfattning : Remote sensing data has great potential for wildfire detection and monitoring with enhanced spatial resolution and temporal coverage. Earth Observation satellites have been employed to systematically monitor fire activity over large regions in two ways: (i) to detect the location of actively burning spots (during the fire event), and (ii) to map the spatial extent of the burned scars (during or after the event).
