    Författare :Niklas Gunnarsson; Anders Själander; Martin Höglund; Bertil Lindahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic myeloid leukemia; Prevalence; Malignancies; Odds ratio; Standardized Incidence Ratio; Outcome; Autoimmune diseases; Survival; Epidemiology; epidemiologi; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a relatively rare hematological malignancy with a constant incidence of approximately 90 new cases each year in Sweden (0.9 cases/100 000 inhabitants). The etiology is largely unknown but high doses of ionizing radiation are a known but rare risk factor. LÄS MER

  3. 3. CD19-targeting CAR T Cells for Treatment of B Cell Malignancies : From Bench to Bedside

    Författare :Hannah Karlsson; Angelica Loskog; Karl-Johan Malmberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chimeric antigen receptors; CAR T cells; T cell therapy; immunotherapy; CD19; Bcl-2 family inhibitors; B cell malignancies; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Immunotherapy for cancer is a young research field progressing at high speed. The first chimera of an antibody and a signaling chain was designed by Zelig Eshhar and was later further developed to enhance existing T cell therapy by combining a single-chain fragment of an antibody with the CD3 zeta chain of the TCR complex. 4. 4. Multiple primary malignancies in breast cancer patients. From population study to genetics

    Författare :Jenny Nyqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; breast cancer; multiple primary malignancies; genetic alterations;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer (BC) is one of the most common causes of cancer-related death among women worldwide. Due to early detection of BC and more tailor-made treatments, patients live longer despite their illness. Studies have shown that BC patients are at risk of developing new tumors in organs other than the breast, mainly caused by BC treatment. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Malignancies associated with gynecological cancer : epidemiological and etiological aspects

    Författare :Kjell Bergfeldt; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Neoplasms; second primary; ovarian cancer; breast cancer.;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to analyze the incidence and risk of second primary malignancies (SPM) in a Swedish cohort of gynecological cancer patients, to explore suggested risk factors associated with second primary malignancies in ovarian cancer patients, and to evaluate the risk of ovarian cancer in a cohort of breast cancer patients in relation to family history of breast or ovarian cancer. Incidence of second primary malignancies in 15,200 gynecologicaI cancer patients were investigated in a register-based study and compared to age- and calendar-specific incidence for women in the general population.
