26. Vegetation Observation in the Big Data Era : Sentinel-2 data for mapping the seasonality of land vegetation
Sammanfattning : Using satellite remote sensing data for observing vegetation seasonality is an important approach to estimate phenology and carbon uptake of land vegetation. The successful launch of Sentinel-2B in 2017 initiated full operation of the Sentinel-2 twin satellites, and they now provide 10 - 60 m spatial resolution satellite data at 5 days temporal resolution worldwide, releasing approximately 3. 27. Bayesian time series and panel models : unit roots, dynamics and random effects
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers and the main theme present is dependence, through time as in serial correlation, and across individuals, as in random effects. The individual papers may be grouped in many different ways. LÄS MER
28. Genetic and experimental studies of seasonal affective disorder and related phenotypes
Sammanfattning : Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a subtype of recurrent depressive or bipolar disorder, in which episodes reoccur and remit during a particular season each year. A genetic component in vulnerability to winter SAD has been suggested, and the goal of this thesis was to increase the understanding of SAD and seasonal variations in mood, by obtaining self-report assessments of related traits, examining genetic variations in genes hypothesised to influence the phenotypes in question, and to investigate effects of different photoperiods and stress in an animal model. 29. Weather and extreme heat in association to mental disorders : The case of Hanoi, Vietnam
Sammanfattning : Background: Vietnam suffers consequences of global warming. There is limited data of the relationship between weather, extreme heat and potential mental health problems. It is therefore crucial to study heat-related mental illnesses and to establish good solutions with relevant adaptations to global warming. LÄS MER
30. Towards an improved understanding of precipitation variations over the Tibetan Plateau
Sammanfattning : The Tibetan Plateau (TP) and surrounding regions are known as the ``Third Pole'' because of their polar-like environment and large reservoirs of fresh water. Due to the latter aspect, the TP is also considered the ``Water Tower of Asia'', providing essential water resources to the surrounding regions. LÄS MER
