6. Studies of changes in volume in right ventricle with electrical bio impedance
Sammanfattning : In intracardiac impedance, electrical bio-impedance is measured inside the heart. This signal is known to reflect the volume of blood passing in and out of the ventricles. In transthoracic impedance the measurement current and voltage sensing is connected on the subject’s chest. LÄS MER
7. Motion analysis of the knee : kinematic artifacts, EMG normalisation and joint forces
Sammanfattning : The non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is the most common and serious debilitating knee joint injury in male and female athletes. To create an ACL injury paradigm that will lead to improved treatment and prevention it is necessary to understand how ACL injuries occur. LÄS MER
8. Validation of Phase Contrast Flow Quantification and Relaxometry for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Sammanfattning : Quantitative imaging, where every pixel of an image represents a physical quantity (e.g. timeor velocity) is being increasingly used in the field of diagnostic radiology and has potential toenhance medical diagnosis. LÄS MER
9. Quantitative cardiac 15O-water PET : Assessment of left-ventricular function, remodeling, and impact of patient motion
Sammanfattning : International guidelines advocate the use of noninvasive cardiac imaging as the initial diagnostic test for coronary artery disease, the global leading cause of death according to the world health organization. Within the wide spectrum of cardiac imaging, 15O-water PET is the gold standard for noninvasive quantification of myocardial blood flow (MBF). LÄS MER
10. Fecal calprotectin in children with special reference to inflammatory bowel disease
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to study the clinical usefulness of fecal calprotectin as a noninvasive marker of colonic inflammation in children with suspected or confirmed chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Calprotectin, a calcium-binding protein predominantly expressed in neutrophils, is stable in feces for several days, and can be measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. LÄS MER
