    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on long-term follow-up results from two cohorts of patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis; one cohort with 535 patients originally included in 4 European randomized clinical trials (papers I and II) and one Swedish population-based cohort including 195 patients (papers III and IV). Two areas are covered in the two cohorts, respectively; the assessment of mortality, prognostic factors and causes of death in the two cohorts (paper I and III) and the assessment of malignancy risk compared with a matched general population (papers II and IV).     Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate and compare surgical outcomes in patients with sagittal synostosis operated with the most commonly used surgical methods in Sweden: craniotomy combined with springs, pi-plasty, or H-craniectomy. Paper I is a systematic review that identified the evidence showing that spring-assisted surgery is as efficient as more extensive cranioplasties to be of very low quality, thereby emphasizing the need for more rigorous studies. The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate patients’ experiences of QOL and supportive care as well as to evaluate a telephone based nurse-led supportive care programme to patients after oesophageal cancer surgery.     Sammanfattning : Treating early-stage classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) by adding radiotherapy to chemotherapy gives better disease control compared to chemotherapy only. With a low median age at diagnosis, the risk from cHL needs to be weighed against the risk of treatment toxicity. LÄS MER
