    Sammanfattning : In South Sweden the third millennium BC is characterised by coastal settlements of marine hunter-gatherers known as the Pitted Ware culture, and inland settlements of the Battle Axe culture.     Sammanfattning : It is argued in the cognitive science of religion (CSR) that the empathic ability to ‘mindread’ others underpins  the experience of supernatural communication with gods, ghosts, and spirits.     Sammanfattning : Egalitarian liberal theories of justice – so this dissertation argues – fail to take into accountthe full implications of the way citizens’ socio-cultural backgrounds work to undermine theequal opportunities these same theories demand. While egalitarians support extensiveredistribution of income and wealth from the privileged to the less privileged, and advocateequal opportunities for all, they do not properly attend either to how our shared societalcultures structure social esteem and related advantages, or to how our individual socioculturalenvironments structure the very act of choice.     Sammanfattning : This study concerns visual culture in 64 children-s (6- to 8-year-olds) everyday practices at a Swedish after-school center. It draws on an interdisciplinary theoretical framework, ranging from visual culture to discourse analysis, exposing the complexity of visuality in children-s social interactions, when talking about TV-programs, mimicing Spice Girls videos, drawing caricatures or looking at picture books.
