  1. 21. The epidemiology of cardiac arrest - In-hospital risk assessment, treatment and outcome

    Författare :Anna Adielsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CPR; defibrillation; deteriorating patient; epidemiology; in-hospital cardiac arrest; medical emergency team; out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; rapid response system; rapid response team;

    Sammanfattning : AIM: To describe and analyse sudden cardiac arrest, both in hospital and out of hospital, from an epidemiological perspective, by early prediction, by comparing changes over time in relation to aetiology, characteristics, treatment, survival or mortality and by identifying factors associated with outcome. METHODS: This thesis is based on four observational studies, including patient information from the Swedish Registry for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, in and out of hospital, and from a local registry on medical emergency team assessment at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. 2. 22. Detection of apoptosis in patients with coronary artery disease : Assessment of temporal patterns and potential sources

    Författare :Aleksander Szymanowski; Lennart Nilsson; Lena Jonasson; Eva Swahn; Stefan Jovinge; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The atherosclerotic process and its consequences are considered driven by an imbalance between pro- and ant-inflammatory actions. One contributing factor in this scenario is an altered regulation of apoptosis, which affects both immune, vascular and myocardial cells. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Precipitation, Raw Water Quality, Drinking Water Treatment and Gastrointestinal Illness

    Författare :Andreas Tornevi; Bertil Forsberg; Gordon Langston Nichols; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : Background On numerous occasions, outbreaks of acute gastrointestinal illnesses (AGI) have been linked to municipal drinking water in the industrialised world. Many of the reported outbreaks were observed after heavy rainfall events, which suggests that such events could result in a deterioration in the quality of drinking water. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Exploring spatial and temporal resolution in energy systems modelling : a model-based analysis focused on the developing electricity systems

    Författare :Nandi Moksnes; Viktoria Martin; Mark I. Howells; William Usher; Holger Rogner; Hannah Daly; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy system optimisation modelling; Global sensitivity analysis; Robust decision methods; Geospatial electrification model; SDG7; SDG13.; Energisystem; optimering; energimodellering; Global känslighetsanalys; Robust decision methods; geospatial elektrifieringsmodell; Globala mål 7; Globala mål 13; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The energy system is undergoing a transition in many parts of the world with this transition being driven by several factors such as climate change, and economic and social development. Agenda 2030, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has set the direction on where development should be focussed. LÄS MER

  5. 25. The Representation of Atmospheric Boundary Layer Processes in Global Climate Models

    Författare :Jenny Lindvall; Gunilla Svensson; Rodrigo Caballero; Andrew R. Brown; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; The atmospheric boundary layer; Global climate models; Diurnal cycle; Flux towers; Diurnal temperature range; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : The atmospheric boundary layer is the lowest part of the atmosphere, which is in direct contact with the surface. It is here, in this turbulent layer, that the exchange of heat, moisture and momentum between the surface and the atmosphere takes place. LÄS MER
