  1. 1. Modeling and simulation of electro-viscoelastic polymers

    Författare :Anna Ask; Hållfasthetslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electroactive polymers; dielectric elastomer actuators; electromechanical coupling; finite elements; viscoelasticity; finite deformations;

    Sammanfattning : The electroactive polymer materials considered in this work react to electric stimuli by producing deformations. In some cases, the electrically induced deformations are moderate, while in other cases they can be very large and the specimen is stretched to more than twice its original length. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Simulation of additive manufacturing using a mechanism based plasticity model

    Författare :Andreas Malmelöv; Andreas Lundbäck; Mathias Wallin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Residual stress; Material model; Alloy 625; Alloy 718; deformations; Finite Element Method; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; Solid Mechanics; Hållfasthetslära;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents finite element (FE) simulations of additive manufacturing (AM) and physically based material modeling of alloy 625 and alloy 718. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in AM and there has been a dramatic increase in publications in the field. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modeling of coupled thermoplasticity at finite strains

    Författare :Paul Håkansson; Hållfasthetslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; Heat generation; Phase transformation; Void growth; Thermoplasticity; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Crystal plasticity; Finite element;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, models for simulation of inelastic phenomena, such as plastic anisotropy, texture evolution, void growth and phase transformation are presented. Special emphasized is put on the modeling of heat generation due to plastic work. All models are formulated within a thermodynamic framework that allows large deformations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On the Modelling of Fracture Using Strong Discontinuities

    Författare :Martin Fagerström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fracture; strong discontinuity; material forces; finite deformations; FEM;

    Sammanfattning : The major concern of this work is the constitutive and numerical modelling of fracture,based on strong discontinuity formulations. More particularly, an extended finiteelement approach is used, where the total displacement is separated in two mutuallyindependent fields, representing the continuous and discontinuous displacement respectively. 5. 5. Alternatives for Finite Element Analysis of Blade Forging

    Författare :Behzad Soltani; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; residual stresses; blade forging; flow approach; metal forming; quasistatic implicit; dynamic explicit; forging; solid approach; finite element method; closed die forging;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a theoretical and numerical study of the weaknesses and capabilities of alternative finite element procedures for simulation of the blade forging problem and also an analysis of the practical aspects of that process. An overview is presented of the finite element method for non-linear problems with elastoplastic constitutive relations, focusing on quasistatic implicit and dynamic explicit approaches. LÄS MER
