1. On Generation and Recombination in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Thin-Film Solar Cells
Sammanfattning : The solar cell technology based on Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin-films provides a promising route to cost competitive solar electricity. The standard device structure is ZnO:Al/ZnO/CdS/CIGS/Mo films on a glass substrate, where the first three layers are n-type semiconductors with wide bandgaps, forming a pn-junction with the p-type CIGS absorber layer; the Mo layer serves as a back contact. 2. Probing Electron Collisions in Nanostructures
Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the role of interaction between charged particles for transport and optical properties in nanostructures. Simulations are provided for a quantitative description of the system dynamics probed by either current spectroscopy or light absorption. LÄS MER
3. Microscopic Modeling of Exciton Propagation and Dissociation in Two-Dimensional Materials
Sammanfattning : Atomically thin materials have been in the spotlight of research during the last decade due to their exceptional properties, providing a platform for the study of novel physical phenomena. In particular, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have emerged as promising atomically thin materials for future optoelectronic applications owing to their strong light-matter interaction and their high tunability. 4. Spin Properties in InAs/GaAs Quantum Dot based Nanostructures
Sammanfattning : Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) are a promising building block of future spin-functional devices for applications in spintronics and quantum information processing. Essential to the realization of such devices is our ability to create a desired spin orientation of charge carriers (electrons and holes), typically via injection of spin polarized carriers from other parts of the QD structures. 5. Dynamics of excited electronic states in functional materials
Sammanfattning : Non-equilibrium processes involving excited electron states are very common in nature. This work summarizes some of the theoretical developments available to study them in finite and ex-tended systems. LÄS MER
