2. Partitioned Scheduling of Real-Time Tasks on Multi-core Platforms
Sammanfattning : In recent years multiprocessor architectures have become mainstream, and multi-core processors are found in products ranging from small portable cell phones to large computer servers. In parallel, research on real-time systems has mainly focused on traditional single-core processors. LÄS MER
3. The cell wall ultrastructure of wood fibres : effects of the chemical pulp fibre line
Sammanfattning : Knowledge of the ultrastructural arrangement within wood fibres is important for understanding the mechanical properties of the fibres themselves, as well as for understanding and controlling the ultrastructural changes that occur during pulp processing. The object of this work was to explore the use of atomic force microscopy (AFM) in studies of the cell wall ultrastructure and to see how this structure is affected in the kraft pulp fibre line. 4. Superabsorbent Polymers from the Cell Wall of Zygomycetes Fungi
Sammanfattning : The present thesis presents new renewable, antimicrobial and biodegradable superabsorbent polymers (SAPs), produced from the cell wall of zygomycetes fungi. The cell wall was characterized and chitosan, being one of the most important ingredients, was extracted, purified, and converted to SAP for use in disposable personal care products designed for absorption of different body fluids. 5. Interactions between Wood Polymers in Wood Cell Walls and Cellulose/Hemicellulose Biocomposites
Sammanfattning : A wood fibre is a complex multi component biocomposite that is hierarchically organised. The arrangement of a wood fibre on the ultrastructural level is highlycontrolled by the interactions between the main structural polymers, i.e. cellulose, various hemicelluloses and lignin, as well as in some parts also pectin and protein.
