  1. 1. Kolets återkomst : Koldioxidavskiljning och lagring i vetenskap och politik

    Författare :Anders Hansson; Jonas Anshelm; Mats Westermark; Alf Hornborg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Carbon capture; carbon storage; coal power; CCS; energy politics; climate politics; scenario; ecological modernization; Koldioxidavskiljning; koldioxidlagring; kolkraft; CCS; ekologisk modernisering; energipolitik; klimatpolitik; scenario; Technology and social change; Teknik och social förändring;

    Sammanfattning : I denna avhandling studeras en ny teknik för att hantera växthuseffekten. Den nya tekniken heter koldioxidavskiljning och lagring (CCS) och granskades av FN:s klimatpanel 2005 och tillskrevs då möjligheterna att stå för 15-55% av alla CO2-reducering fram till 2100 och detta till en 30% lägre kostnad än vad som annars vore möjligt. 2. 2. Promises and Pitfalls of Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage : Actors' Perspectives, Challenges, and Mitigation Deterrence in Sweden

    Författare :Emily Rodriguez; Anders Hansson; Simon Haikola; Stefan Grönkvist; Nils Markusson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage BECCS ; Negative emission technologies NETs ; Carbon dioxide removal CDR ; Sustainability transitions; Mitigation deterrence; Sweden; Bioenergi med koldioxidavskiljning och lagring bio-CCS ; Negativa utsläpp; Koldioxidinfångningsmetoder; Energiomställningen; Mitigation deterrence; Sverige;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) methods, such as bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), have gained traction in international climate policy arenas to meet net-zero goals. Even though companies operating facilities with large point sources of biogenic emissions, such as pulp and paper industries and energy utilities, could implement carbon capture, there are few studies that take a bottomup perspective to study these key actors. 3. 3. Opportunities and uncertainties in the early stages of development of CO2 capture and storage

    Författare :Mårten Lind; Mats Westermark; Mohsen Assadi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acceptance; cement; CCS; CO2 capture and storage; early opportunities; enhanced oil recovery; expert opinions; hybrid power cycles; optimism; oxyfuel combustion; pressurised fluidised bed combustion; pilot plant; potassium carbonate; risk; Sargas; scenario studies; scientific uncertainty; stakeholder perceptions; Chemical process and manufacturing engineering; Kemisk process- och produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The topic of this thesis is carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS), which is a technology that is currently being promoted by industries, scientists and governments, among others, in order to mitigate climate change despite a continued use of fossil fuels. Because of the complex nature of CCS and the risks it entails, it is controversial. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Partial CO2 capture to facilitate cost-efficient deployment of carbon capture and storage in process industries - Deliberations on process design, heat integration, and carbon allocation

    Författare :Max Biermann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; carbon allocation; Partial CO2 capture; process industry; techno-economic assessment; CCS; heat recovery; amine absorption;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change requires that all energy-related sectors reduce drastically their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, at a global rate of 1–2 GtCO2 per year, starting now. Process industries, such as the iron and steel, cement, petrochemical, and oil-refining industries, are inherently carbon-intensive, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one of the few options available to achieve the required deep reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. 5. 5. Partial carbon capture – an opportunity to decarbonize primary steelmaking

    Författare :Max Biermann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; excess heat; amine absorption; partial CO2 capture; process industry; cost estimation; CCS; steel making;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change requires that all energy-related sectors drastically reduce their greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). To have a high likelihood of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, large-scale mitigation of GHG has to start being implemented and cause emissions to fall well before Year 2030. LÄS MER
